Gold is a noble metal. According to the definition of a noble metal, one that is resistant to corrosion and oxidation
in moist air, unlike most base metals is liable to fit into this category. Also a very precious metal due to its rarity in
the earth’s crust, Gold has since ages been associated with powers of the spirit. Its wearer is granted protection,
wealth, wisdom and success in all endeavors. Across many civilizations, the power of gold has been linked to that of the Sun
due perhaps to its resemblance in appearance. In the popular comic book Asterix, the druid Getafix is depicted always using
a golden sickle to cut herbs which go into the preparation of a magic potion that grants superhuman strength. In Indian mythology
Gold is referred to as the seed of Agni, the God of Fire. Manu the ancient law-giver decreed that golden ornaments should
be worn for specific ceremonies and occasions. Across history we have witnessed Gold acting as a universal medium of exchange
across various monetary systems. In today’s world, current oil prices and dollar rates have something to say about the
prices of gold
